It's designed to resist that. The band uses a dual nub and strap system made to be difficult for a young child to open on their own, and we're continuing to refine it.

No strap is impossible for a determined child to remove, which is one more reason WaterWatch sits alongside supervision rather than in place of it.

Most do, easily. The band is light, soft, and doesn't feel like a medical device. If you're introducing it to a toddler, the usual tricks work: let them see you wear it first, make it part of "pool day" routine, don't make a big deal of it.

No, and I'd ask you not to buy it if you're looking for a replacement. WaterWatch is a final layer of protection, the one that catches the seconds in between when an adult looks away, steps inside, or turns to grab something. It works alongside the other layers, not instead of them.

The band and hub are designed to cover typical residential pool setups. If you have an unusual layout, a long lap pool, a large property, the hub far from the water, email me and I'll help you work out the right placement.

Up to four bands pair to a single hub. If you need more bands later, additional kids, backups, or replacements, you'll be able to add them after launch.
