How it works
Three steps. Under three seconds.
-
1. Wear the band
Your child slips on the WaterWatch wristband. Lightweight, waterproof, and designed to stay on.
-
2. Water triggers the alert
The moment the wristband is submerged, it signals the poolside hub instantly.
-
3. You get the alert in seconds
Your phone alerts and the hub's siren sounds.
Drowning is silent.
And it's faster than you think.
Drowning is the #1 cause of accidental death for children ages 1–4 in the United States. (CDC)
It happens in under 30 seconds. There's no splashing, no screaming — just quiet, and then it's too late.
Most drownings happen when a child slips away for "just a second." Pool fences help. Swim lessons help. Supervision helps most of all. But nothing catches the seconds in between — the moments when you look down at your phone, step inside for a towel, or turn to grab a drink.
That's what WaterWatch is for.
Small enough for little wrists. Strong enough to matter.
WaterWatch was built for kids ages 1 to 8 — the age range where drowning risk peaks. Hand-assembled, rigorously tested, and designed by a founder who refused to accept that nothing better existed.
Why I built WaterWatch
I grew up on the water. Water ski team, lakes every weekend, always one of the first kids in and one of the last ones out. But I also grew up in a community that was impacted by drowning.
The idea for WaterWatch hit me in college. From that moment, I haven't stopped moving it forward. I've self-funded every step so far, from my savings and a grant from the Texas Business Hall of Fame, because I refuse to take outside money that pressures me to cut corners or mark it up beyond what families can afford.
My goal is simple: build a drowning alarm that every parent can actually trust. Every unit in this first batch is built right here in Texas. Limited to 250.
If that mission matters to you, I'd love for you to be part of it.

WaterWatch FAQ
About the product
What comes in the box?
Every WaterWatch system includes a rechargeable wristband, a poolside hub with a built-in siren, a power adapter, and a setup guide. The free iOS and Android app comes separately — no subscription.
How does it work?
Your child wears the wristband. The moment it touches water, it signals the hub — no wifi needed for this part. The hub sounds its siren and sends a push notification to your phone through the app. You know in seconds, wherever you are in the house.
How small is it?
Designed to fit the smallest wrists. Lightweight and flexible enough that most kids treat it like a cool watch, not gear. Built specifically for ages 1–8, the years when drowning risk is highest.
Is it waterproof?
Yes. The entire band is fully waterproof — it has to be, that's the whole point.
How does it charge?
The band is rechargeable. A quick charge between pool days is all it needs. No disposable batteries, no replacement parts.
Safety and usage
Can a toddler take the band off by themselves?
No. The band uses a dual nub and strap system designed to be difficult for a young child to remove on their own. Once it's on, it stays on. We're continuing to refine this as we finish the first batch, because getting this right matters more than anything else.
Will my kid actually wear it?
Most do, easily. The band is light, soft, and doesn't feel like a medical device. If you're introducing it to a toddler, the usual tricks work: let them see you wear it first, make it part of "pool day" routine, don't make a big deal of it.
When is it monitoring?
The band activates the moment it detects water. It doesn't matter if you're at the pool, the lake, the bathtub, or a kiddie pool — if water touches it, the alarm fires.
Can I use it in lakes or hot tubs?
Yes, with some setup considerations. For lake properties, the hub placement matters because of distance, obstructions, and wifi reach. If you have a specific setup question, email me at forrest@wtrwatch.com — I'm handling lake properties and unusual environments one-on-one right now.
Does WaterWatch replace supervision, pool fences, or swim lessons?
No, and I'd ask you not to buy it if you're looking for a replacement. WaterWatch is a final layer of protection — the one that catches the seconds in between when an adult looks away, steps inside, or turns to grab something. It works alongside the other layers, not instead of them.
Shipping and timing
When will my order ship?
Summer 2026. This is the first batch, limited to 250 units. I'll email you the moment yours ships — and send build updates along the way so you know where things stand.
What if the ship date slips?
If the timeline moves, I'll email every customer with a clear update and a real reason. You can cancel for a full refund at any point before your unit ships.
Are you still testing the device?
Yes, and I will be through the pre-order window. I'm running continuous testing on battery, seal integrity, band durability, and edge cases. Safety and quality come before speed — if something isn't right, I'd rather push the date than ship a half-finished product.
Is this a pre-order? When do I pay?
Yes. Full payment is charged at checkout to reserve your spot in the first batch. You're not charged a second time — the $199 covers everything, ships Summer 2026.
Connection and setup
Does it need wifi to work?
The band and hub communicate directly — that connection does not need WI-FI. Even if your internet goes down, the alarm still fires the instant the band touches water. The hub connects to wifi only to send the push notification to your phone, wherever you are.
What's the range between the band and hub?
The band and hub are designed to cover typical residential pool setups. If you have an unusual layout (long lap pool, large property, hub far from pool), email me and I'll help you figure out the right placement.
How many bands can one hub support?
Each bundle comes with one to four bands paired to a single hub. If you need more bands later — additional kids, backups, or replacements — you'll be able to add them post-launch.
Returns and support
What if it doesn't work for my setup?
If you order and WaterWatch doesn't work for your specific situation, I'll make it right. I'm handling edge cases personally during this first batch.
Who do I contact with questions?
Forrest — me. Every email to forrest@wtrwatch.com comes straight to my inbox, and I answer them myself. If you have a question about your order, your setup, a delay, anything — just hit reply. That's the deal for the first 250 families.
